The MyLot Scam

First MyLot is a paying sight, that's not the problem I have with them. The scam comes later after you are an established member, and if you get on anyone's dark side. The Powers that be who are friends with the admin or the moderators use their powers to get people banned or force someone to leave voluntarily.

I belonged to them once upon a time, and I was making an average of 50.00 a month on the sight not hard to do but, there are people on that sight who want it to be an exclusive club, they want all the earnings and money to themselves, and they violate the rules and get away with it, and when someone else violates the rules they go after them with everything they can, and they get their friends in on it as well.

The penny or 2 per comment that you get and the amount of time you have to spend to worry about if you are going to get black listed by the 'in-group' isn't worth it or the time and stress, and when you leave they get the money that you earned. For me it was over 45.00, and others were more......I gladly let them have the money and their sorry sight.

One thing that is very very disturbing about mylot is how secretive they are, about who they are, and where they are located. There is no way to contact them outside of 'email' and through the sight. It really makes me wonder how much they are hiding and how much they are trying to get around US laws and taxes. They don't send members a 1099 (I think that's the correct form number), if they make over 600.00 a year on their sight, they trust that the members will claim their earnings on their taxes on their own. Other sights will 1099 their members if they earn over 600.00 in a year, which while a bummer, is the right and honest thing to do.

The secretiveness, the 'groupie club' (which is worse than what you see in public schools) will be the downfall of mylot. Banning members for no reason other than they don't like someone is going to catch up with them, and while they won't close or shut down, they will loose members and become the exclusive club.

Without being a member and signed in I recently surfed the sight, and some things never change the people that complained about me copying and pasting and writing blogs and articles on current news events, and if I copied anything from a news article it was a short paragraph, are doing the same thing, but they copy the whole dang article so that their post is longer.

While I got slammed for putting up shots of photographs that were series, I see people doing the same exact thing they got on me for... So they are doing the same thing they were before, but its a more exclusive club, which is what they want.

This is how its a scam, they lure you in, get you posting, then for no reason ban you and take your money. There's the scam. I saw countless people banned for no reason, some had a good reason, but if you reported a groupie for going against the rules then you could kiss your account good-bye.

And there is at least one user that will make sure of that, she emails all of her friends on mylot and off mylot to get them to gang up on you, report you for things that are not against the rules and get you banned. They use their friends, and they make it known who they are in subtle ways as to who the connections are.

People use copyrighted photos all the time and nothing gets said or done about it, but use a series of original photos? Then that's a no no....Forget to add a photo to your post, and then post the photo later? As many people as I saw do that, well when I did it it was a no no....and someone in the group reported me.

The Scam is there, and if you belong to mylot here's my advice:

keep your payout to minimum, don't accrue it or let it build up in your account.
watch your back
don't let on if you report someone
don't let on if you contact admin about a rule breaker
Watch your back
Know that the trolls are probably on your friends list
be a flower on the wall and collect your money every month

If mylot wants to have an exclusive club that's what they will get but if they can't keep the numbers up and the posts up, they will loose advertisers, not that anyone wants to hear that they have won a free ipod nano or macbook air, and if they loose advertisers, they will ultimately loose money
